Are there any foods or supplements that help people grow tall?
Summary
Without adequate nutrition and consuming a variety of healthy food items during developmental years, growth can be stunted.
The main factor that plays a role in our height is genetics. We reach our maximum height around our teenage years and sometimes up to around the age of 20, with girls often reaching their full adult height before boys. Without adequate nutrition and consuming a variety of healthy food items during developmental years, growth can be stunted. Once you reach your maximum height, you can’t naturally get any taller and there is no supplement that can change that.
Consuming adequate amounts of calcium, vitamin D, protein, magnesium, and phosphorous is not only essential for our growth during childhood/adolescent years, but also during our adult years to aid in maintenance of a strong and healthy skeletal system. Around the age of 40, people may begin to shrink, so consuming adequate amounts of these few key nutrients can aid in delaying potential shrinking as we age. Other ways to prevent shrinking include practicing good posture, engaging in regular movement,
and staying physically active.
